Dirgahayu Indonesia (UK edition)

17 Agustus tahun '45, itulah hari kemerdekaan kita..

sekilas info, finally I've finished my dissertation!! yeeeeayy!! (loh nggak nyambung -_-)
Okay, here is the real news..

Yep, it's August the 17th now and I am (still) in Newcastle!!

Although I am not in Indonesia right now but I am still celebrating the independence day here with the other Indonesian mates. However, the way we celebrate this special day is slightly different from what we usually do in Indonesia, unfortunately, we don't have the so-called upacara dan pengibaran bendera merah putih :( Unlike Upi (my friend studying at Kobe University Japan), that became the "pembawa baki bendera", I just simply became the coordinator for "seksi konsumsi" that have to ensure that all the participant leaves the event with fully-loaded tummies -__-

The good news is, PPI Newcastle & Al-imanu community threw a fun yet meaningful event named "OUR INDEPENDENCE".

They provided soo many many good foods, such as nasi kuning, perkedel, kering tempe, rolade ayam, bihun goreng, telur balado and othersss (triple S cause I can't even remember what I have eaten). The food was cooked by Ibu-ibu dan Mbak-mbak and that was soooo delicious (I mean it).
Unfortunately, I don't have the prove to show you (I will upload them when the pictures are ready).

We also had some mainstream games that we've already known for kids and adults as well.

( That royal mail sack tho :( )

I was joining the "lomba makan kerupuk", cause I really really tempted to eat the super crunchy "krupuk uyel" lol.
(look at my happy face wkwk)

To sum up, the event was really cool, the food was great, and the weather was.. (sigh) so hot!
I will add more pictures once I get the decent photographs :))

bye now!
